Just gave my daughter a priesthood blessing, and had this thought…
If all of this were pretend, and the feelings of the Holy Spirit were just simple emotions…
Then, how come there is a specific, unique feeling I experience only when engaging in specific things…
Like giving priesthood blessings?
Like bearing my testimony?
Like serving people as a representative of Christ?
And like praying and reading scripture?
It’s peace, but not a typical peace.
It’s invigorating, but not in the normal way.
It’s happiness, but unlike any other.
It’s something I cannot manufacture and that only accompanies sacred experiences, like blessing my child.
This doesn’t prove anything to anyone else. But that’s not the point.
You have to experience it yourself to understand.
